Guests enjoyed music and dancing, cake, and champagne,īut most of all we enjoyed coming together to celebrate the life of one of the greatest thinkers of the 20th Century. People came from near and far, young and old, to celebrate an honor this prophetic thinker. ![]() ![]() Like George Bailey, (reference to the film “It’s a Wonderful Life”) Doug Engelbart may just be the richest man in town. Where a few hundred of Doug’s friends and family greeted him. We provided a white limo for Doug and Karen Engelbart in Wisdom Studies.We hosted a glorious 85th birthday celebration at The Tech Museum in San Jose. Previously, Claudia founded NextNow Collaboratory, described by the director of MIT’s Center for Collective Intelligence as an example of “a new kind of collective intelligence,” and was a director at UC Berkeley’s Haas School of Business, where she helped develop and deliver programs on strategy to global corporations while pioneering social responsibility and sustainability curriculum. Claudia convenes the IONS Overview Effect and Collective Consciousness webinar series and is contributing author to the Gold Nautilus award-winning Evolutionary Leaders' anthology, Our Moment of Choice (Simon & Schuster). As executive producer of the award-winning Edgar Mitchell Overview Effect Virtual Reality Experience (EMVRX), she’s co-investigator with Cassi Vieten (UC San Diego) on shifts in perception and psychophysiology in response to EMVRX. Claudia is a founding chair and advisor to NEXUS Global, bringing practical consciousness research to nextgen philanthropists, impact investors, social entrepreneurs and activists focused on global transformation. She’s on the boards of Space for Humanity (“To Space, For Earth”), HeartMath’s Global Coherence Initiative, and is lead citizen scientist for GCP 2.0, the next-gen version of the Global Consciousness Project begun at the Princeton Engineering Anomalies Research lab (PEAR). Her work with IONS began in the 90s as part of a five-year inquiry on peace building through business while she was at the University of California, Berkeley. Ed Mitchell, after he experienced an epiphany in space while returning to Earth in 1971 about the true interconnected nature of reality. IONS was founded by Apollo 14 astronaut and 6th man to walk on the moon, Capt. Claudia Welss is Board Chair and Interim CEO of the Institute of Noetic Sciences (IONS), a nonprofit scientific research and experiential discovery lab in CA, USA. ![]()
